Irada Organization Condemns the Houthi Terrorist Attack on Riyadh Airport and Calls for Accountability

Statement of Condemnation, Denunciation, and Condolences.

Irada Organization against Torture and Enforced Disappearance condemns in the strongest possible terms the bloody terrorist attack carried out by the Houthi terrorist militia against King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on the afternoon of Saturday, 10 October 2026. According to the announced casualty figures, the attack resulted in the deaths of 12 people and injuries to 309 others of various nationalities. This extremely grave assault on a vital civilian facility endangered the lives of passengers and airport personnel and violated the fundamental rights to life, security, and safety.

Irada Organization affirms that the deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian objects, including airports and passenger terminals, constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law and cannot be justified under any political or military pretext. Furthermore, intentionally directing attacks against civilians or civilian objects may constitute a war crime entailing individual criminal responsibility under international law.

According to the casualty figures announced by the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority, the attack resulted in a total of 321 casualties, including 12 fatalities and 309 injured persons. Among those killed were four Saudi nationals and eight foreign residents: two Bangladeshi nationals and one national each from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan.

The 309 injured persons are receiving medical treatment.Irada Organization emphasizes that attacks against civilian airports and exposing passengers of various nationalities to the risk of death and injury constitute a serious threat to the safety of international civil aviation. Such acts require holding the perpetrators accountable and guaranteeing the rights of victims and their families to justice, redress, and reparations.

Irada Organization calls upon the United Nations Security Council, the United Nations, and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to condemn these Houthi terrorist acts and strengthen mechanisms for accountability and the prevention of impunity.

Irada Organization further stresses that the protection of civilians is not a political choice but a binding legal and humanitarian obligation that must never be compromised. Responsibility for grave violations does not cease merely with the end of military operations. Ensuring justice for victims and holding those responsible.
