Death of the Kidnapped Ali Siraj under Torture in Houthi Militia Detention – Statement
The Organization of Irada for Combating Torture and Enforced Disappearance strongly condemns the death of the kidnapped student Ali Mohammed Ahmed Shuwaie Siraj, from the Eastern Isolation, Najra District, Hajjah Governorate, who was in his twenties, after being kidnapped by the security elements of the Houthi militias in Al-Shaghadra District, Hajjah Governorate, on Wednesday, 5 November 2025, where he was taken out after only two hours of detention, lifeless, as a result of the brutal torture he was subjected to.

This incident represents a gross violation of the right to life and human dignity, and constitutes a summary execution under torture, which violates national laws and international treaties, including: • Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: “Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and personal security.” • Article 6 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which prohibits arbitrary killing and torture.

The Organization of Irada for Combating Torture and Enforced Disappearance calls on local and international human rights organizations to condemn this heinous crime, which falls under the crimes of the Houthi militias against civilians, including ethnic and sectarian cleansing.
The organization also calls on the United Nations to open an independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances of the death of Ali Shuwaie, and to hold all responsible parties accountable for this grave violation. The organization further calls for ending all forms of torture, arbitrary detention, and enforced disappearance practiced by the Houthi terrorist militias, prosecuting all those running secret detention centers and prisons, and ensuring that they do not evade justice.
