condemnation statementDue to celebrating the anniversary of the Glorious Revolution of Sept 26, Houthis militia abducts dozens of activists.

For ten years, Houthis militia has been practicing the worst kinds of violations against Yemenis. It killed thousands of Yemenis, displaced millions, practiced the racial discrimination, ethnic cleansing crimes, arbitrary detention and forcibly disappeared hundreds of civilians and activists. Therefore, we call upon Houthis to immediately and unconditionally release all abductees, holding them the accountability for the safety of all abductees. We urge all writers and activists to exercise their roles to educate the community about the risks of racism and apartheid practiced by Houthis militia. We demand the legitimate government of Yemen to play its role to prevent the diversion of Yemen into a sectarian hotbed following the Iranian ideology of Vilayat-e Faqih. We also demand, UN, the Security Council, the local and international human rights organizations and all interested States to stand firmly against Houthis militia charging those responsible for such crimes and ensuring that there is no impunity.Issued by Eradah Organization to Combat Torture and Forced Disappearance GenevaSept 9, 2024
